Unhappy IVS on Linksys router - not working

Hi,

I had been chugging along fine with my Palmrouter sending and receiving shows. I have just recently set up a new Linksys router and it is not working (not contacting unit). Tried very hard not to have to post (mucho reading of forum and scouring the internet) but I am getting confused. I have tried to match the configuration settings that I had but something is off. Here is my setup:

• Replay 5040
• Linksys WRTU54G-TM firmware version v1.00.04
• ISP is Comcast
• Motorola SB5100 SURFboard Cable Modem
• IP: 192.168.1.100
• Internet Identity: Marklevinson1 00004-54831-74089
• Mac OS
• Using DCHP settings

Here is a link to a screen shot of my port forwarding configuration screen:

I am suspecting it has something to do with the start and end numbers but I do not know.

thanks kindly,

Mark

Hey, Mark. Yes, the port forwarding is not correct. The "range" for a single port would be, for example, port 5040 to port 5040. Do you remember what port you used before? If not, go to your Replay, press Menu, then choose Setup, then Internet Identity and Address Book, and you can find the port you had set up in there. Then enter that port # for START and END values, and while I'm not sure about this, I'd change the Protocol to "both", because I'm pretty sure that UDP is used at some point. At least, it can't hurt.

EDIT: Never mind, I tried to do an IVS test on your Replay, and although it failed, it told me that it was trying to contact your Replay on port 29000. There, saved you some trouble.

The name should be something other than 29000 and then start and stop are both 29000.

Apparently I didn't either.

Thanks Max and fbreshears. I will give that a go this evening when I get home from work.

I just noticed the the IP address on the router page is not the same as the one you stated was your replay's. The router says 192.168.0.100 not 192.168.1.100.

That's true, but I do not see a way of changing anything but the last number.

Then it sounds like your Replay has a hard wired IP address - double check the Replay network settings.

FYI, you will sooner or later hit the DHCP bug with that Linksys running the factory firmware. You really would be better off looking into something like Tomato firmware as it will let you assign static IP's to the Replay mac address.

On the replay go to Menu/Setup/Network and Input Settings/Change Network to enter the correct IP.
